Wingsuit Record Check

Load a FlySight track. The page finds exit and the end of freefall, measures the Time of Fall (SC5 3.3.6.4) and Distance of Flight (3.3.6.5), checks the data, and compares the results with the current records plus the 2% margin (3.3.6.6). Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Exit and end of freefall

Step by one GNSS sample if the judges place a point differently.

Flight trace

AltitudeVertical speedHorizontal speed

At exit

Vertical speed rises at about 1 g as the jumper leaves the aircraft. Horizontal speed starts to fall at the same moment.

At deployment

Total speed stays steady during the reach and throw. A sharp, sustained drop means the parachute is now slowing the jumper.

Ground track

The solid line is the path flown. The dashed line is the straight-line distance that counts for the record (3.3.6.5).

Data quality

The device limits come from the 2026 WS Competition Rules (3.1.1 and 5.7.4). SC5 3.1.3.1 applies those rules to record attempts "where appropriate". SEP is estimated from the receiver's hAcc and vAcc: SEP ≈ 0.51 × (√2·hAcc + vAcc).

Records this jump can claim

Categories follow SC5 3.3.8: General is open to everyone and Female only to women. A Continental Regional record needs a licence from an NAC in that region, wherever the jump took place (3.4.2). A new record must beat the current one by at least 2% (3.3.6.6), within a ±1% margin of error (3.3.6.7). The current records are built in from the FAI ratified records list as read on 14 Oct 2026. A category with no ratified record is marked "No record yet", and any valid performance in it sets the first record (3.1.3.6). Check the list for newer ratifications before filing a claim. If a value has changed, type the new one over it.

Claim checklist

The file can't show these. Tick them off as the evidence comes together.

Record dossier page

The one-page flight summary for the record dossier appears here once the jump beats or sets a record this claimant can claim.

Rules this page applies

Time of Fall (SC5 2026, 3.3.6.4). Time in seconds, rounded to the nearest 0.1 s, while wearing a wingsuit, from exit altitude to the altitude at which the fall is terminated.

Distance of Flight (3.3.6.5). The straight-line distance of flight in metres, rounded to the nearest whole number, from exit altitude to the altitude at which the fall is terminated. Distance is measured over the ground, as in WS CR 5.3.2, on the WGS-84 ellipsoid (Vincenty).

Margin (3.3.6.6). A new record is set only if it exceeds the current record by at least 2%. No propulsion may be used after exit. No drogue is allowed (3.3.6).

Accuracy (3.3.6.7). The overall margin of error must be within ±1%. The record file must include calibration data, evidence that the data hasn't been tampered with, and evidence that the instrument records the required type and accuracy of data.

Exit. The moment the jumper leaves the aircraft (SC5 3.3.4.4). The page finds where vertical speed starts rising from the jump-run baseline and extrapolates the free-fall ramp back to that baseline, within one sample. It also reports when vertical speed first reaches 10 m/s, the reference the WS CR uses (2.2 and 2.3).

End of freefall. The page uses the first GNSS sample of sustained deceleration in total speed, the point where the parachute starts slowing the jumper. Canopy open is shown for reference only. SC5 doesn't spell out this point further, so the judges certifying the record make the final call (3.1.3.2(b)).

Rounding. Halfway values round up (WS CR 2.1).
